Clifford FaustOklaoma born, Oregon raised, Clifford Faust enjoys working and living in New York City.

After  graduating from the Los Angeles Art Center School, and then working in San Francisco, Faust set out to see the world in a Volkswagen Beetle, aiming in the general direction of New York. Along the way he met a multitude of charming people and saw a lot of weird and wonderful places which would eventually influence his work.

Arriving in NYC for Cliff was like entering wonderland. Whether it was the flower children floating through Central Park or fashion models strutting down crowded 5th Avenue, Faust was “high” just watching the millions of crazy characters all around him.

He also found Jack Potter, one of his idols, teaching classes at the School of Visual Arts. Through Potter’s classes, Clifford developed his original, mixed media, cut paper style. Faust is also influenced by Bernie Fuchs, Mark English, the French Impressionists, Van Gogh, Gustav Klimt, and Egon Schiele.

Clifford has worked with major NY advertising agencies and also illustrated a number of book covers for publishers in the U.S. and Canada.
